Finally!  I'm caught up!  We spent the night in Roswell New Mexico, hoping to see ufo's, ufo crash sights, alien creatures walking the streets....there is nothing here save a "UFO" museum.  our 1st major dissapointment of the trip..oh well we got a good nights sleep, a hot shower (unlike our stay outside of Albuquerque) where a water main broke in the middle of the night and we woke up without water. Watching the local news this morning it still isn't repaired!  In Roswell I got the red dust from Monument Valley finally out of my hair.  It's still coating the Jeep however!

Ruby added Colorado to the states she has now been in...California, Arizona, Utah and now New Mexico.  Likely by the end of the day today she'll be able to add Texas

This is Rod and you know who.  Rod was riding his bike along Route 66.  He started in Chicago on March 8th on his way to visit his brother in San Diego.  A very, very nice laid off steel worker, formally working in Gary, Ind.  Now that the scenery is not as breathtaking as the last few days, I would like to get to know the people of America better.

Ruby at Billy The Kid's grave in Ft Sumner N.M.  Once again she did not display proper ettiquette as immediately she peed in the very sparse cemetary.  Right after this picture was taken she began digging where she is standing here.  The only other people that were here said that she was trying to dig up Billy to see if he was really there!

The only other people at Billy's grave site.  When I asked them where they were from they said "no where" probing further they said that they had just left Houston and had no idea where they were going next.  Very nice and down to earth people (I was going to say folks but that's Obama's phrase).
I missed the turnoff for the grave site by about 3 miles...finally pulled over with a map in the middle of nowhere a beat up Dodge pickup pased me, went about a quarter of a mile down the road and turned around..I was convinced that this was going to be my "Deliverance' moment..you know the "squeal like a pig" scene!  Turned out the guy who's teeth would embarace an English person (no offense Michael!)  was  a very nice man going out of his way to get me back in the right direction!

Sombody the "Kid" shot

The area around the Kid's grave. I wondered if hewas happy spending eternity here.

Our sunset in Roswell.  Off to Carlsbad Caverns
