Boy oh boy, have we put a ton of miles behind us the last 2 days!   We started in Maine on Thusday and ended up outside of Cleveland Friday, on our way into Detroit today.  Once we got out of Massachusetts and Maine the weather miraculously cleared and it is beautiful!  It was really nice to switch from missles to machine guns (meaning with this veiled reference I went from regular glasses to sunglasses...yaaaa)!  The entire time in New England we had 2 sunny days and the rest were overcast or raining!  Now that we have turned west (on the way home) we have got really nice weather here in the Midwest (is this an omen)?...I like it when west is in the name of the region that we are in!
We've had for the most part, terrific weather...so I can't really complain about New England.
Last night we stayed at a Days Inn and the wifi sucks...the slowest I've encountered yet, so I'll keep this brief...that coupled with the fact that we spent zero time yesterday on 2 lane roads.  All interstate (see, they finally got me saying that)!  So...we didn't stop...just pedal to the metal...not many sites to see..almost like flying..you can't see much.
By the way..
GO LAKERS!!!!
GO CLIPPERS!!!!
GO KINGS!!!!
It's good to live in Southern California!
I miss not going to some of these games.
I also miss the games due to the time change (I'm exhausted by the end of the day)!
Thank God for Sports Center

Little did I know when we stopped in Herkimer, New York Thursday night ( couldn't find a dog friendly motel) at 10pm, that our motel was right next to the Erie Canal...had to have a pic.
The Erie Canal opened this entire area up to shipping, basically from Minneapolis to New York City, utilizing the Great Lakes, many rivers and of course the canal that filled in the missing pieces in the mid 1800s!
Isn't there a song about working on the Erie Canal...Jimmy Dean perhaps?
Dating myself with that statement!

Really our only stop and a place that doesn't need discription.
Suffice it to say we didn't attempt to view the falls from the Canadian side (fuck the Canadians)!
These shots are strictly from the American side.

A very nice gentleman from Japan took this picture...again I had to wrestle Ruby into position..what is it with this dog?

These girls followed Ruby wherever she went!  They all fell in love with her...who doesn't?
They are from Long Island and were in Buffalo for a dance competion that begins today...good luck girls!!
Notice how agreeable Ruby is to posing with them?
The breeder that I got her from had 4 young daughters that helped raise her (they were 4, 6, 8 and 10), until I came along and ripped her from the idyllic life she enjoyed on the farm.
Perhaps that's why she loves being with girls rather than members of the other gender.

Kisses for the girls...they went crazy when she kissed them all!

This is the last thing that you would ever see if you were in the river.

Ruby going nicely (unusal) for a walk with her new friends!

A drawbridge in Ashtibula, Ohio...we have gone over many of them but this is the 1st one that was actually in use.

The girl on the rights t-shirt says better than anything I could come up with for todays final thought...
"HAPPY TO BE ME"
Have a wonderful Saturday!!
